My recollections of Jewish Winnipeg in the 1950’s, 1960’s and 1970’s don’t resonate with the young folks I do not want to look back with rosy lenses. The Winnipeg Jewish life of my youth was far off being a paradise. I am generally glad that today’s young Jewish-Canadians get to live in a different Canada from the one I grew up in. However the memories of long ago Jewish-Winnipeg will die with my generation, except in a few books and articles.
